The paste from Word button on the WordPress visual editor toolbar

For some people, writing in a word processor such as Microsoft’s Word is more comfortable than creating content directly in the WordPress editor. But word processors can add formatting tags—invisible characters that can mess up your content. For those folks who wish to import Word copy there is a handy toolbar feature called “Paste from Word”. To use this tool, first copy the text you want to use in Word. Back in your WordPress page or post, use your cursor in the editor to select the location where you want to paste the copy. Click the Paste from Word button and dialogue box will open on the screen.

Click inside the dialogue box text field and paste your Word content then click “Insert” at the bottom right corner of the box. That will paste the text into the editor without formatting.
